What is Advanced Placement and What Does CCAP offer?

Advanced Placement (AP) is a program that offers college-level courses and exams to high school students. AP courses are designed to challenge students academically while helping them develop critical-thinking, problem-solving, and time-management skills. At the end of each course, students have the opportunity to take an AP exam, and many colleges and universities award college credit or advanced placement based on exam scores. Participating in AP courses can demonstrate a student’s academic readiness and commitment to pursuing rigorous coursework.

CCAP currently offers 31 Advanced Placement courses spanning a wide range of academic disciplines, including mathematics, history, science, world languages, English language arts, and a variety of elective subjects. These rigorous, college-level classes provide students with the opportunity to explore their interests, challenge themselves academically, and develop the critical-thinking and problem-solving skills needed for success after high school.
