SAT/ ACT/ CLT

Many colleges and universities consider standardized test scores as part of the admissions process. Students have several testing options, including the SAT, ACT, and Classic Learning Test (CLT). While each exam measures college readiness, they differ in format, content, and testing style. Students should research the requirements of the colleges they are interested in and consider taking more than one exam to determine which best reflects their strengths.

The Classic Learning Test (CLT) is a college admissions exam that emphasizes reading, grammar, and mathematics while incorporating passages from classic and historical texts. The CLT has been approved for use by Florida’s public universities and is accepted for Florida Bright Futures scholarship eligibility. Although not all colleges and universities currently accept CLT scores, the number of participating institutions continues to grow each year. Students interested in taking the CLT should research the admissions requirements of the colleges on their list and consider whether the exam aligns with their academic strengths and goals.
