Scholarships can play an important role in helping students achieve their post-secondary goals by reducing the financial burden of college and career training programs. The College and Career Advanced Placement (CCAP) program is committed to helping students identify scholarship opportunities that align with their interests, achievements, and future plans. Throughout high school, students and families will have access to resources, guidance, and information on local, state, and national scholarships, as well as strategies for creating strong applications. By taking advantage of these opportunities, students can maximize their options and make their educational goals more affordable.
Explore Scholarship Opportunities
The scholarships listed below provide students with opportunities to earn financial assistance for college and other post-secondary programs. Students are encouraged to review eligibility requirements, application deadlines, and submission materials carefully, as each scholarship has unique criteria. Students are also encouraged to schedule a meeting with Mrs. Hatchett or their counselor to discuss scholarship opportunities and identify awards that align with their academic achievements and future goals. New scholarship opportunities are added throughout the year, so be sure to check back regularly for updates.
Florida Bright Futures Scholarship
The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program provides eligible Florida students with financial assistance to pursue post-secondary education within the state. The program offers three award levels: the Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) award, the Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) award, and the Gold Seal programs. The Florida Academic Scholars award provides the highest level of funding and is available to students who meet rigorous academic, testing, and service-hour requirements. The Florida Medallion Scholars award offers partial tuition assistance to students who meet an additional set of eligibility criteria. The Gold Seal programs—including Gold Seal Vocational Scholars (GSV) and Gold Seal CAPE Scholars (GSC)—recognize students pursuing career and technical education pathways. Students are encouraged to review the requirements for each scholarship early in high school and schedule a meeting with Mrs. Hatchett or their counselor to ensure they remain on track to qualify.
Public Education Foundation of Marion County Senior Scholarships
The Public Education Foundation of Marion County (PEFMC) offers a wide variety of scholarships exclusively for Marion County seniors pursuing college, technical training, and other post-secondary opportunities. Through the PEFMC scholarship portal, students can complete a single application and be considered for numerous scholarships that recognize academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, career interests, and financial need.
In early spring, a representative from PEFMC will visit Forest High School to introduce seniors to the scholarship portal, explain the application process, and discuss the many scholarships available to Marion County students. Because scholarship requirements and deadlines vary, students are encouraged to attend this presentation and begin exploring opportunities as soon as the portal opens. Students should also schedule a meeting with Mrs. Hatchett or their counselor to discuss scholarship options and ensure they are taking advantage of all available resources.

The Marion County Public Schools Scholarship Directory is a valuable resource that provides students and families with information about local, state, and national scholarship opportunities. In addition to scholarship listings, the directory includes helpful information about financial aid, grants, loans, work-study programs, and resources for planning and paying for post-secondary education. Students can explore scholarships based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, career interests, community service, and financial need. Because scholarship requirements and deadlines may change throughout the year, students are encouraged to review the directory regularly and meet with Mrs. Hatchett or their counselor to discuss opportunities that align with their goals and future plans.

Each year, Empowered of Central Florida proudly awards three meaningful scholarships to graduating high school seniors: the Toro Townley “Be The Light” Scholarship, the Jacob Casey Empowered Scholarship, and the Pando Memorial Music Scholarship. These awards honor the lasting legacies of extraordinary individuals by investing in the next generation of faith-filled servants, leaders, and creatives.
The Southeastern Youth Fair (SEYF) Scholarship Program recognizes outstanding Marion County 4-H and FFA seniors who have demonstrated dedication to agriculture, leadership, and community involvement through their participation in the Southeastern Youth Fair. Multiple scholarships are awarded each year to help students pursue higher education at a college, university, or technical school. Eligible seniors who have actively participated in SEYF are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to receive financial assistance while being recognized for their hard work and commitment to the agricultural community.
