John Crawford
My job at Forest High School is to serve as the founder and coordinator of the College and Career Advanced Placement Program (CCAP), a rigorous academic magnet program I established in 2019 to expand Advanced Placement opportunities for students. I work closely with students, families, and teachers to strengthen AP curriculum and help students pursue challenging academic pathways that align with their interests, career goals, and future plans. As an AP United States Government and Politics, AP Comparative Government and Politics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Microeconomics teacher, I am passionate about helping students develop critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills while preparing them for success in college and beyond.
My Story
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Crawford moved to Florida at the age of nine and graduated from Crystal River High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science from the University of Central Florida before continuing his education with both a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and a Master of Business Administration.
Mr. Crawford is a dedicated husband and father of five children. Three of his children are graduates of Forest High School, while two currently attend the school, giving him a unique perspective on the importance of building strong relationships between students, families, and educators.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Crawford enjoys traveling, reading science fiction, following sports, and playing video games. Whether working with students or spending time with his family, he is committed to encouraging curiosity, lifelong learning, and personal growth while helping young people prepare for the opportunities that lie ahead.
